Description
Edgefield, South Carolina, early 19th century, likely Reverend John Landrum. The jar having well-placed high tab handles with somewhat small opening on tall ovoid body with alkaline glaze. At the foot, the jar has two very pronounced diamond stamps side by side, near the top rim the jar has two small punctuates. Several tight hairlines from rim to mid body with nicks to the rim. Handles are in good condition and lower body is in good condition. The jar is in as found condition H17" Note: The piece is sold from a private Georgia family and was likely used on their farm.
