WWII Era Sperry Gyro-Compass Repeater Mark XV, MOD.O Manufactured by Dodge Division of Chrysler Corporation Patented Mar. 4, 1919 *Only 50,000 Made* - This rare find is a WWII era, Sperry Gyroscope Company Gyro-Compass Repeater. The model is Mark XV, MOD.O. The piece was manufactured by Dodge Division of Chrysler Corporation under license from Sperry Gyroscope Co. Inc., and was patented March 4th, 1919. The piece is made of weighted brass and bronze, and has wiring for lighting. Sperry only made 50,000 of these, and they were sold to our Allies before WWII. This piece is in excellent, museum quality condition and is a wonderful chance to own a piece of history. The dial features a gimbaled 8-in. compass, with cardinal points in block letters, and outer ring reading 0-360. The center is marked "Mark XV MODO.O", and around the perimeter of the compass reads; "Sperry Gyro-Compass Repeater, Patented March 4, 1919, Manufactured by Dodge Division of Chrysler Corporation Under License from Sperry Gyroscope Co. Inc." The compass is fixed to its original Pelorus stand, NO. SP-643241, serial no. c-19992.
