George Washington Hand-Painted Period Framed Silhouette
c. 1820-40 Vintage Hand-Painted George Washington Silhouette on Glass, Original Frame, Choice Very Fine.
This well accomplished early rendition of George Washington measures 7.25” x 8.25”" in its original period wood frame. The attractive gold gilt and black painted George Washington Portrait Silhouette is painted in reverse on the underside of the early clear glass. The name “GEO: WASHINGTON” is neatly lettered in black directly below the bust. It is in excellent condition, having just a hint of tone to the backing paper behind the portrait and a small scrape to the inner frame liner, otherwise fully ready to display.
