Description
This Impressionist painting of a family of swans in a glowing sunrise dates from around 1940-50, and is signed Lie. There are several known artists with that last name, and we are not sure who this may be. It is also possible that the initials LIE is a monogram. Either way, this is a charming oil painting on heavy linen canvas, and it is installed in a heavy natural-wood frame which has been washed with subtle colors. The frame appears to be original to the painting.
Painting size is 17"x20", Frame is 22"x25"
The painting has been gently cleaned and re-varnished, but is otherwise as-found. The deep frame has some dings but is an attractive period-piece. A protective backing has been added to the stretcher.
