A letter in the handwriting and with the signature of Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner, dated: 1951.
The letter was sent to the founder and mayor of Bnei Brak, Rabbi Yitzchak Gershtenkorn, congratulating him on his sixtieth birthday. Rabbi Wosner addresses him in the letter with exceedingly complimentary titles: "The one who is great in Torah and in mighty deeds, the founder, leader and head of Bnei Brak...", and also blesses him that "Praised is his lot and portion, that he had the merit to add one city in the Holy Land which is unique in its Torah and fear of Heaven..." and blesses him to continue in this path "as his heart and the heart of his friend and admirer desire...".ÂÂ
Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner [1913-2015], author of Shevet HaLevi, Rosh Yeshiva of the Chochmei Lublin Yeshiva in Bnei Brak and one of the greatest halachic rulers of our time.
Rabbi Yitzchak Gershtenkorn [1891-1961], one of the pioneers who established the city of Bnei Brak, and its first mayor.
