Impressive, high-quality collection of thousands of Israeli stamps arranged in 16 large albums. A fantastic, incomparable range of stamps designed by the leading stamp designers in Israel over years, starting in 1948 [the first Doar Ivri series, various values, issued by the State of Israel] through 1984.
It is difficult to detail the rich content of the collection. It includes many subjects that reflect all aspects of the Israeli lifestyle and features impressive designs [stamps of different designs issued for the same event]. The collection is also amazingly organized [most stamps are in a special cases, in addition to the album pockets]. It includes extremely rare pieces. The collection is arranged in chronological order, according to when the stamps were issued, and includes some very rare stamps. The collection includes some series of the same stamp in a number of variations: with tab - not postmarked; with tab - postmarked; without tab - without postmark. It also includes tens of completed stamp charts and many connected stamps.
Includes stamps relevant to the Jewish and Israeli lifestyle: road traffic safety; archeology; scenery in different cities [rare Petach Tikvah stamp]; IDF; tourism; politics; authors; rabbis; nature; Independence Day [various years]; Olympics; Israeli museums; Jewish art; holidays; Yom HaZikaron L'Chalalei Tzaha"l; Aliyat HaNoar; the tribes; Biblical birds; complete Chagall windows series, and more.
A significant selection of stamps include tabs/labels and some are postmarked. The collection includes many doubles.
The collection was arranged by one collector who dedicated himself to this project for many years.
Includes about another 500 unorganized stamps [in an envelope], 41 first day cover envelopes from the 1950s through 1970s, and the book Bulei Yisrael 1948-2008, catalogue 14, edited by Yaakov Zachor. The catalogue presents hundreds of Israeli stamps according to their first day of issue, arranged by subject, and more.
Average size: 23x32 cm.
Most of the stamps are in new condition, the others are in very-fine condition.
