A Large Bruno Zach (Austrian, 1891-1945) unsigned Circa 1915 "Rock Movers", bronze group on marble base. A Powerful Bronze study of Two Workers moving a Boulder mounted on rectangular marble plinth. On Base measures 13"x8"x9 1/4". Weight 32 pds. PROVENANCE: The estate of Marshall M. Fredericks, by descent. Bruno Zach (German/Austrian, 1891 -1945) was born in the town of Schitomir, Ukraine and studied at the Vienna Academy under Hans Bitterlich and Josef Mullner. The subjects of Zach’s bronze works include western, orientalist, sporting, animalier, art deco and erotic figures. He worked between the years 1918 and 1935, revelling in the spirit of Art Deco.
