REV. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. SIGNS THE PREAMBLE TO THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE
(1929-1968) Clergyman and civil rights leader who advocated nonviolent but active and massive confrontation in order to obtain rights for blacks. "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL" An extraordinary item, a signed photo of Dr. King with the preamble of the Declaration of Independence appearing just beneath the civil rights leader's portrait. The 7 1/2" x 10" printed piece bears a 2 1/2" x 3" chest, up photo of King just above the printed Preamble to the Declaration of Independence. It reads: "...We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal: that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness...". Beside his portrait, Dr. King has added a large blue ink signature: "Martin Luther King Jr.". Fine condition, simply matted and framed.
