Description
Chinese, first half 20th century. A pair of hardwood, likely huanghuali, side tables, each square in form, having a open, pierced gallery apron, with a box stretcher. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 19.125", width 20.5", depth 20.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Anne Eng, owner of Trader Eng's / House of Eng, Atlanta, GA.
Condition
Structurally sound. One bracket or stretcher is broken at one end with a loss. There are interior repairs to the cluster legs on both tables observed under blacklight. Chipping of wood to the underside. Underside of top with seams/patches. Surface wear commensurate with age and usage.
