Drawing, Pencil, Dimensions: 64 x 48 cm, Lovis Corinth (1858-1925)Lovis Corinth (born Franz Heinrich Louis Corinth) was one of the most eminent and influential German Impressionists. His later works are often considered a combination of Impressionism and Expressionism. Corinth studied at the Königsberg art academy and was a student of Otto Günther. Corinth focused on painting portraits and landscapes, creating over thousand paintings, watercolor drawings and prints. In addition he wrote books and essays for several art magazines. Many of Corinth’s works can be found in national and international galleries and museums today, a large part of his oeuvre is privately owned.
