French Carved Oak Table Top Gramophone, late 19th c., with an iron morning glory horn, motor runs, but not complete, H.- 22 in., W.- 21 in., D.- 28 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Lacking the needle. Heavy wear along the edges of the horn. An approximate ½ inch and pea-size dent on the interior of the horn. Scattered flea to pea size chips in the paint on the interior. A 3 inch scratch and 1 inch paint loss to the interior of the horn. A 2 inch yellow streak on the front of the base. Apparent repair to the end of the handle, which is slightly bent and chipped. Light wear and several scratches along the bottom edge of the base. Heavy wear to the label. Nails visible on the back hinge. Raised finish and flea-size dark spots on the arm. A fascinating piece.
