John Rogers Figural Group, "The Traveling Magician," 1877, patinated plaster, on an integral base, H.- 23 1/2 in., W.- 15 3/4 in., D.- 15 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Moderate to heavy flaking to patination throughout. Magician's proper right hand and half of the bunny lacking. Plaster visible intermittently throughout, especially on the girl's foot, the boys' limbs and magician's head and arms. Apparent repair to the top of the magician's proper right shoulder, with ½ inch and ¼ inch triangular pieces lacking. Greenish discoloration on the magician's face. A ½ inch circular chip to the back edge of the magician's coat. A ½ inch chip to the top of the stump on the back of the stage. A delightful scene.
