French Gilt Bronze Louis XVI Style Cartel Clock, late 19th c., time and strike, by Japy Freres, with a large urn surmount atop a pierced case with a central clock with enamel chapter marks, above a pierced panel flanked by reeded columns, on a shaped pierced base, H.- 22 1/4 in., W.- 15 1/2 in., D.- 6 1/2 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age and use. Moderate to heavy wear throughout the gilt. Rust on the hands and intermittently on the central panel and back. Light wear on the enamel chapter marks. A flea-size hole at the bottom of the right column. A classic piece.
