Description

[Mickey Spillane]. WWII Army Air Force Type A-11 Leather Flying Helmet and Goggles. Mickey would have been no stranger to this type of flying helmet during his days as a flight instructor training Army Air Force pilots during WWII. This example was manufactured in 1944 by the Consolidated Slipper Corporation and is a size medium. The helmet shows considerable use and is lacking the avionics. A post-WWII set of military Sun, Wind and Dust goggles, including the original box is included. A picture of Mickey wearing a similar helmet and goggles accompanies the lot.
