Description
One Hundred and One Pieces of Armand Frenais Silverplate Flatware, first quarter 20th century, including seventy-seven forks and spoons in a "Coquille" pattern, and twenty-four knives in a "Louis XV" pattern, no monograms. Detailed list of pieces available on request.
Condition
In generally good condition, with the expected wear (scratches, nicks and dings) consistent with age and moderate use; the fork tines have some scratches and one or two bent tips. The knife blades are probably later (though not recent) replacements. Note that the larger size knives all show faint rust rings where it joins the handle, probably from non-stainless tangs. Note, though, that the knife handles are not silverplate, but first standard (.950) silver by Olier & Caron of Paris (and so marked). The forks and spoons marked "Frenais" and with the "AF/84" and anchor silverplate mark of Armand Frenais.
