Description
Brass, enamel, and glass nautical compass instrument from the early 19th century. The instrument is made out of brass and is incised with flowers along the body. It has four points, each designated with blue glass and 3 points having pink glass stones as well. The instrument has both a magnetic compass and a sundial. It appears to have had a level as well. The enamel portion of the sundial is painted with both characters and numerical digits. The bottom of the instrument is made so that it can be screwed onto a surface.
Dimensions are 7 inches long by 4 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches high. All measurements are approximate.

Condition
It has signs of age. Some of the painted on characters are worn off. It also has developed a substantial patina. It is in otherwise good condition.
