Description
Two soapstone seals from the Qing dynasty in a glass case. One seal is tall with a large guardian lion finial. The guardian lion has two pups crawling on its mane. The seal is unused. The other soapstone seal is square and each side is carved with calligraphy. They are kept is a glass and wood case.
Dimensions are 3/4 of an inch wide by 2 1/8 inches high for the taller seal and 7/8 of an inch wide by 1/2 of an inch high for the smaller seal. All measurements are approximate.
Provenance: From a Boston estate. Collected in Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s.
