Eastern Woodlands of North America, mid-20th century CE. This is a blond wood carved form of a beaver, with short limbs and a broad tail. It is mounted on a metal base. The beaver is a powerful animal in many Native American mythologies. This is a beautiful piece that suggests a lot with a simple form. Size: 8.5" L x 2.25" W x 2.75" H (21.6 cm x 5.7 cm x 7 cm)
