Description
Ancient Near East, ca. 1500 to 500 BCE. This is a flat symmetrical blade of undulation form with a short central insertion tang. The ancient Near East was a hotbed of copper-alloy weapon production, and many of these blades were made to be buried alongside dead warriors as grave goods. This is a particularly large and fine example. Size: 13.9" L x 2.25" W (35.3 cm x 5.7 cm).
