Roman. Larger: AE2, (2.8 g) Treveri beginning to August 353 CE, Ɔ. D N MAGNEN ā€“ TIVS P F AVG Draped and cuirassed bust r. Rev. SALVS D D N N AVG ET CAES Chrismon; in field, A ā€“ Ć¹. C 30. RIC 318. Bastien 86.A very strong an expressive portrait of Magnentius. AMP. Smaller: Bruttium, The Brettii, ca. 216 to 214 BCE AE (5.7 g), Unit or Drachm. Laureate head of Zeus right; tiny G below / Eagle left. Rutter HN 1942. Size of larger (Magnentius): 0.95" W (2.4 cm)

Magnentius was emperor of the Western Empire from 350 to 353 CE, during which time he constantly warred with Constantius II. Bruttium coins, meanwhile, were archaic money from Croton, Caulonia, and Rhegium.
