Description
Roman, Imperial Period. A trio of nice pottery oil lamps: Fish Discus is early-mid 1st century CE. This one has a circular body with concave discus set from the shoulder by a groove and with a fish design in relief on the discus. The nozzle is arrow-shaped; the bottom is flat with a groove around the ring base. Handled with round body is probably Roman Egypt, 4th to 5th century CE. A heavier lamp than the other two, this one has a flattened handle opposite the wide, short spout and a very small discus, with a bulbous molded design around the body. No handle with stamp on bottom is 1st to 2nd century CE. A simple design with no decoration on the discus, and with a raised rings around the discus and spout. The flat base is stamped. Size of largest: 3.8" L x 2.7" W x 1.1" H (9.7 cm x 6.9 cm x 2.8 cm)
