Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 2nd century. Solid bronze dog with raised head and tail curled along body, hinge loop to one side and insertion tangs beneath. Possibly a key or lock latch. Size: 2.375" L x 1.25" H (6 cm x 3.2 cm)
Provenance: Ex - Bavarian collection acquired in the 1960's.Don May collection, acquired in the 1970's.
