Description
Southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 325 BCE. This pottery oinochoe (pouring vessel) has a trefoil lip and a delicate handle. It stands on a round foot and the body is painted black, with a small area of line and dot motifs in white around the neck and shoulder. Size: 2.6" W x 4.25" H (6.6 cm x 10.8 cm)
Provenance: Ex- Collection of James Farmer, Maryland, collected from major galleries and auction houses between 1995 and 2005

Condition
Handle repaired at base but very difficult to see; small chips to rim and expected wear to pigment commensurate with age. Scratch which appears to be ancient down one side.
