Description
Greece, Corinth, ca. 6th century BCE. A conical miniature jar with a strap handle folded at an acute angle to the body. The top of the handle is continuous with the broad, flat rim. Two incised lines separate the neck from the body, while thick and thin stripes of deep red paint around the buff orange body form a charming, irregular pattern. The rim has tight, radiating red lines painted on it, making the jar look like a sun from above. Size: 1.8" W x 4" H (4.6 cm x 10.2 cm)
