GEORGE V: (1865-1936) King of the United Kingdom 1910-36. D.S. by George as Prince, one page, folio, Royal Humane Society, Trafalgar Square, London, 15th April 1904. The partially printed document certifies that the Committee of The Royal Humane Society resolves unanimously that 'Charles E. Butterell is justly entitled to the Honorary Testimonial of this Society…having gone to the rescue of George Marshall who was in imminent danger of drowning in the Canal at Sheffield and whose life he gallantly saved.' Matted in cream and framed and glazed in a plain brown and gold wooden frame to an overall size of 16 x 21. With minor age related wear and a few foxing spots, not affecting the signature. G
