WORDSWORTH WILLIAM: (1770-1850) English Romantic Poet who served as Poet Laureate from 1843-50. L.S., William Wordsworth, two pages, 8vo, Rydal Mount, Ambleside, 28th January 1850, to Frederick Haines. Wordsworth thanks his correspondent for the music which they had sent, remarking 'I hope soon to have the pleasure of hearing it played by some skilful performer'. The poet continues to inform Haines that 'The words were composed by a sister of my wife's and not by anyone bearing the name of “Wordsworth”'. With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original envelope bearing a small black wax seal to the verso. VG
