Description
Circa 1860s; This signed Lee lithograph was handed down in the Carver family of Maine. The Carvers were southerners during the Civil War. Their farm was located on the Winchester Virginia Battlefield. This lithograph hung in their farmhouse. The Lee signature is offset and may be his handwriting. Dimensions: (Frame) H 18.25" x W 13.75" (Sight) H 15" x W 10.75" Condition: Major crack to glass. Heavy cracking and wear to frame. Gouge to beard area of portrait. Some tearing throughout lithograph. Discoloration consistent with age. Portrait is being held in frame by packing tape to back.
