Pair of Rare English George III Solid Sterling Silver 11.25" Candlesticks Made by S.C. Younge & Co. Hallmarked for 1814 (1798.8 Grams) - This is a pair of goregous, English George III solid sterling silver candlesticks that are absolutely STUNNING. The candlesticks were made in 1814 by S.C. Younge & Co., and are SOLID sterling silver with weighted bases. The candlesticks measure 11.25" high and are done in a beautiful, rococo revival style and are profusely decorated with swirls and swags. They have removable bobeches that are also ornately decorated, and engraved "P.M." and "1886" underneath. These pieces are extremely rare, and were made for only the finest tables. These candlesticks are over 200 years old and are in incredible condition. The pieces are hallmarked on both the candlesticks themselves and on the removable bobeches. They are hallmarked with the S.C Younge & Co. maker's mark, the Sheffield town mark, the capital "W" 1814 date mark, the silver standard mark, and the sovereign head duty mark. (1798.8 grams)
