2 Antique Tampan/Ceremonial Cloths, Sumatra, Indonesia. Supplementary weft on handspun cotton; natural dyes. Very good condition; larger one an ancestral "ship" cloth from Lampung region of south Sumatra; early 20th c. Some very slight staining noticeable only on reverse side, commensurate with age. Largest size: 26'' x 25'' (66 x 64 cm). Provenance: Collection of Monroe and Carol Whitaker.
