Item Details
Description
This is an original authentic Central Plains Native American Indian Beaded Tomahawk War Club Drop Wrist Throng from circa 1890. The excellent example shows an Indian tanned hide construction with wonderful glass trade seed beadwork across the entire front. The beautiful piece would have been attached to a period War Club or Tomahawk at the pierced section to be used as a wrist throng or drop. The beadwork shows such rare colors as chalk white, semi-transparent blue, semi-transparent red, and green. The piece shows a unique snake like scalloped edge design and is in very well preserved fine condition. The drop also shows a repeating cross like design. Provenance: From the personal collection of renowned collector and foremost expert on war clubs and tomahawks, Mark Francis. The Francis collection piece has been authenticated and is truly a museum quality artifact. Beaded area measures 11.25"L and overall is 20"L x 2 3/8"W.
