A GROUP OF SEVEN ASSORTED VINTAGE WALKING STICKS, comprising a bamboo shaft walking stick with carved bone eagle head handle and silvered metal collar, length: 32 5/8"; a bamboo shaft walking stick with carved bone goat head with glass eyes handle silvered metal collar and ferrule, length: 34 5/8"; a rosewood shaft walking stick with carved bone hoof handle, length: 35 3/4"; a striped bamboo shaft walking stick with carved composite rabbit head with glass eyes handle and sterling silver collar in the form of a buckled strap by Charles Edwards, London, England, 1919, length: 33 7/8"; an etched brass hollow tube walking stick/document holder with silvered metal twist off handle, collar, and ferrule, length: 35"; a dark brown malacca shaft walking stick with a sterling silver foliate scroll pattern handle attributed to R. Blackinton & Co., North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and brass ferrule, length: 39 1/2"; and a dark brown malacca shaft walking stick with chased gilt bronze perched frog atop a bunch of pussy willows with salamander, horn ferrule, length: 34 5/8".
Condition
Eagle head: wear and marring to the shaft which is also splitting, ferrule missing; goat head: shaft refinished, loss of silvering to edges of ferrule; hoof: crack at crook of handle, collar and ferrule missing, wear to shaft; rabbit head: losses to tips of ears of handle, ferrule missing; brass stick/document holder: dents to sides of shaft, most of silvering worn off; silver handle: monogram removal to handle, shaft refinished; gilt bronze frog: missing collar, shaft refinished.
