Description

A VICTORIAN RENAISSANCE THREE HINGE WOOTEN DESK, original finish Made by the Wooten Desk Co. Indianapolis, Indiana, with Renaissance revival gilt and burl walnut exterior with ebonized and birds eye maple interior. Height: 66" Width: 41" Depth: 30" Provenance: Estate of former Texas Governor, the late John Connally, Houston, Texas.

Condition

A piece of the molding now unattached from the upper gallery, but present, two finials now lacking from the side hinges, one curved veneered panel appears to have a crack, craquelure is consistent throughout, the doors close with some assistance, lacking keys, some expected surface scratches, and dents, wear commensurate with age, otherwise in very good condition.
