HIROSHIGE WOODBLOCK PRINTS TOKAIDO ROAD: After Utagawa Hiroshige I (1797 - 1858, Japan). A pair of Japanese woodblock prints from the series: The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road (Tokaido gojusan tsugi no uchi), also known as the Gyosho Tokaido. 1.) Seki: The Inn (Seki, Hatagoya mise no zu). Sight size: 7.5"h x 12.25"h, Framed: 14"h x 18.25"w. An example of this print can be found at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Accession Number: 11.40014. 2.) Nihonbashi: Daimyo Procession Setting Out (Nihonbashi, gyoretsu furidashi). Sight size: 9"h x 14"w, Framed: 15.375"h x 20.375"w. An example of this print can be found at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Accession Number: RES.53.150. PROVENANCE: directly from the lifetime collection and estate inventory of second generation, distinguished world-wide collectors and esteemed New England Antique Dealers from Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
