Jesse Corsaut (born 1929) Oil/Board. Signed upper right. Jesse Corsaut was born in Kansas in 1929 and lived in Hutchinson. He had a one-man show in Topeka at age 14. He later studied in New York City at the Art Student League and Columbia University. In realist style, the artist has painted nudes and still lifes and created bronze sculptures. His bronze of John Wayne stood in the White House during the Reagan presidency and in 1993 he was commissioned to create the Presidential Medallion for President Clinton. His John Steinbeck bronze is at the entrance to Cannery Row in Monterey, and a full-size bronze of Ignacy Jan Paderewski is on the University of Southern California campus.
