Two typed letters One being from Martin Luther King, Jr. to Mr. Green

"Dear Mr. Green: - My literary agent, Marie Rodell, informed me of your interest in placing my book, Stride Toward Freedom, in play form. I was certainly happy to hear this and knowing your great reputation in this field my delight was increased even more. After Hearing that you are interested in talking with me concerning this matter I told Mrs. Rodell that I would try to make arrangements for such a meeting as soon as my convalescence period draws toward the end. Now that I am about to get on my feet again, I will be very happy to talk with you concerning the play. Almost any time in December would be satisfactory with me. Since my health does not permit too much travelling at this time, naturally, it would be better for me to have the discussion here in Montgomery. If this is agreeable with you, you can check your schedule and let me know the time that you can possibly come. Yours very truly, Martin Luther King, Jr."

Second letter reads: "Dear Martin: We have word from England (you probably have also!) that Trevor Huddleston is to write a forward to the British edition of your book. If for any reason this is not agreeable to you, will you let me know right away so I can stop it? Gollanez will not be using the illustrations in Great Britain - I suspect because of the expense. I'll be looking forward to hearing about your talk with Paul Green. Yours, Marie F. Rodell"
