Christo (American/Bulgarian, born 1935) and Jeanne-Claude (Moroccan/French, 1935-2009). A cornucopia of items related to Christo and Jeanne-Claude's project "The Umbrellas, Japan - USA, 1984-91." Included are a number of postcards with different views of the project: [9] signed and [2] unsigned measuring 4" x 6" and [5] signed and [4] unsigned measuring 4.5" x 6.5". Also included are the following signed items: a souvenir check for the value of $1.00 to be paid to Mr. Jacob Baal-Teshuva, signed by Christo; an exhibition pamphlet signed by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, and a promotional book pamphlet by Taschen signed by Christo and Jeanne - Claude (five more identical unsigned copies of the pamphlet are also included). The lot is accompanied by two fabric samples: yellow (8" x 3") and blue (6" x 3"), a magazine article with text by Dadeline Deschamps and photos by Eric Boman, and a color pamphlet (in Japanese) featuring a stylized trail map of the project with five postage stamps and five stamps placed at various points along the printed trail.
