Ancient Egyptian Limestone Relief fragment with a Bird on both sides, Ptolemaic Period 300 BC. Size of the relief: 5 3/4 x 4 3/4 inches. custom mounted on wood block overall size 7 1/4 inches high. Ancient Egyptian Limestone Relief Bird Egypt Hieroglyph,this hieroglyph represents the "W" or "uuh" a section of a limestone stele having raised relief detailing of a Bird on both sides of the fragment. A very fine and Rare example. Repaired with visible crack line. Provenance: Property of a New York City Art Historian Estate, acquired from Mathias Komor works of Art New York. Sticker number H 736. Mr. Komor was an expert in Antiquities and ran a gallery at Madison Avenue and 71st Street from 1941 until 1984. He was also a consultant to many United States museums.
