Massachusetts artist Angelina Wood (1930-2003) created this airy watercolor titled TULIP TIME near the end of her career. It is spontaneously painted with masterful brush marks and clean colors. Angelina was a well known regional artist in Southern Massachusetts, where she operated an art gallery and art school. Many of her young students went on to attend art colleges, and some of her adult students eventually opened their own galleries in coastal towns. She was a member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, where she was recipient of many accolades , including the Grumbacher Award. Along with her son Bruce co-founded AFA Press, an art printer and publisher in Michigan. Her art was sold nationally by that company. Angelina Wood's paintings are in collections including the The Franklin Public Library, Boston Children's Hospital, and numerous other health care facilities. She believed that her are should evoke positive feelings in viewers, and during her lifetime her work was valued for that quality.
