Item Details

Description

These were manufactured from the 1850's to the early 1860's. This is the large .44 caliber double action version of military contract. Manufactured by Starr Arms, New York City. The one piece walnut grips have perfect cartouche on both sides. Matching number on frame and cylinder. Numerous military inspector marks on most major parts. Features blued finish, case colored hammer and loading lever, non-fluted six shot cylinder. Left side of frame retains approximately 40% original blue with traces on barrel. 50% blue on top strap. 50% on right side of frame. Balance of gun is basically brown patina with some scattered age freckling. Grips are near mint. Strong clean bore. Action seems to be jammed up and needs some attention. Comes with a reproduction holster. Serial Number-5120; Manufacturer-Star Arms; Model-Percussion Revolver; Caliber-.44 percussion; Barrel Length-6"; FFL Status-Antique;
