Description
Tapered round steel smoothbore barrel, secured by brass barrel band, with Austrian proofs near muzzle. Flat flintlock lockplate with beveled edges and Austrian proofs at tail and in center, reinforced cock and brass pan. Brass furniture. Walnut full-length stock with steel ramrod. Very good; lock and barrel retain a brown patina with scattered areas of light pitting. Brass retains a mellow patina. Stock is very good with some age cracks, scattered marks from use and is refinished. Probably made between 1803 and 1815, a high quality flintlock military pistol.
