The basis for this incredible custom rifle is a Winchester Model 1885 Falling Block Hi-Wall frame. Frame was fitted with a heavy 28" full octagon barrel and chambered for the U.S. .30-40 Krag cartridge. The barrel is beautiful rust blued. Angelo Bee has engraved the breech of the barrel going forward 2". The muzzle is fitted with a gold line. Front sight is a Spirit level adjustable and no provision for rear sight but rear of barrel is tapped and filled for a scope block. Angelo gave the frame the full engraving treatment with border scrolls and floral. Left panel featuring mountain range and gold inlay hawk catching a rabbit with talons out (popular A. Bee design). The top and back a frame are likewise beautifully scroll engraved with stippled background. Right side has a panel with wood scene with solid gold fox and partridge inlay. Both side panels are outlined in gold. Beautiful scroll engraving at base of case colored lever. Similar engraving at top and bottom arms of the silver plated Swiss heavy metal buttplate. Forend is custom hand checkered with ebony forend tip and a case colored palm rest base is installed. Swiss style buttstock features beautiful grain. The same custom checkering at pistol grip and rosewood inlay at pistol grip. Tang sight has been fitted. This rifle is in as new condition inside and out, as built, retaining all of the wood and metal finish. It is housed in a French fitted hard luggage case with the following accessories: walnut base palm rest, custom black composite checkered Winchester Swiss style buttplate and two extra levers (both case colors) in two different Schuetzen designs. Installed lever is standard model. The original purchaser spared no expense in having this custom rifle built, finished and engraved by true masters. The cost to build this rifle today would be well into the five figures and is arguably the most handsome Hi-Wall we have ever handled albeit custom.
