Description
Manufactured 1904. This high condition Savage is in arguably the rarest caliber available in this rifle, the .25-35 Winchester centerfire. All early Savages are desirable when chambered for the Winchester 1894 cartridges, but it seems that the .25-35 is literally non-existent. This rifle has all of the early desirable features. Has the perch belly stock, mirror blue high polish finish frame, and case colored lever. Standard features include full round barrel, rifle butt, Schnabel forend, early high polish tang sight, standard sporting front. Barrel retains approximately 95% of the high polish factory blue finish. Smokeless steel barrel with razor sharp legends. Frame retains approximately 80% of the high polish mirror blue finish, thinning on bottom with the finishing serration lines found on Colt Lightning pump rifles and early Model 1894 rifles. Stocks are original, proud to metal, never refinished, and in beautiful condition. The previous owner's name is stamped on the left forearm and right side panel in very small letters "Variel". Buttplate has brilliant case colors with fire blue screws. Strong case colors on lever with even some pattern on bottom. Strong clean bore and perfect action. This is the best condition .25-35 caliber we have ever seen and would be extremely difficult to find another.
