Description
Referred to as an S/42 Mauser code dated chamber Luger, manufactured by Mauser for the German military. This was the first military example to use the blued parts rather than the straw colored parts. This example has all matching numbers including both walnut grips panels, as well as the aluminum bottom magazine. Chamber has the 1939 date stamp. Toggle is stamped with the S/42 Mauser code. Barrel retains approximately 60% original blue with patina coming through. Grip straps are a dull blue with some thinning and minor age freckling. Frame retains most of the original blue finish, showing wear in all the usual places, high edge rail wear, and sideplate hump. Tight side of frame is stamped with Waffenamt 63 twice and Imperial stamp. Barrel and side of toggle have Imperial stamp. Fine bore and perfect action. Near mint grips. Comes in original clam shell holster "Otto Cindel Berlin 1939" with eagle with swastika in excellent condition. Holster is stamped 2409 and has Nazi stamped loading tool. Very fine all matching Mauser military Luger that dates to the era of the Blitzkrieg in Poland and the true beginning of World War II.
