A collection of Maya stone celts from the New River area of Belize, ca. 250 – 600 AD. These are fine examples of a type knows as “Tears of the Gods” and were placed on field altars as votive offerings to agricultural deities. This group of four celts ranges from 2” to 2-7/8” in length, including a light green example. Nice set of different forms, all with good mineral deposits and sharp bits..
