Albert Edward Jones
Albert Edward Jones was strongly influenced by the 20th century Arts and Crafts movement. He was a member of the Craft Guild in Birmingham before he founded his own silver manufactory in 1902. He received his education with the silversmith Woodward in Birmingham. He then moved to the metal workshop of Hardman Powell. Around the turn of the century he took evening classes at the Birmingham Central School of Art. He met famous designers such as Edward R. Taylor, Arthur Gaskin and Bernard Cuzner, with whom he collaborated. After the turn of the century, Jones also made bronzes and jewelry. The company existed well into the 1980s. (cko)
