Description
This seated jade figure with headdress most likely comes from the Hongshan, a neolithic culture in northwest China (3500 to 2000 BC). Hongshan burial artifacts include some of the earliest known examples of jade working. The pendant is 2-7/8 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 3/4 inch deep.
Condition
The nephrite exhibits surface alteration and luster from partial restoration. From a private collection, this pei is clean, without notable flaws, and will be sold without restoration (as is).
