Description
Two similar late Victorian silver boxes, each of rectangular form with crimped rims and embossed animal and bird hunting scenes, the lids further embellished with floral motifs and scrolled cartouche, one monogrammed. Hallmarked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1900. One slightly longer in base length and measuring 10.2 cm, weight 117 grams.
Condition
Both boxes display some general wear, surface marks and scratches. Minor dints and a few rim splits to both. Some holes in the embossed decoration. Hinged lids appear in working order although they do rise up a little when in closed position. Hallmarks to both are clear and legible, maker's mark on one is partly hidden in the decoration.
