Description
An early Victorian Scottish provincial silver Fiddle pattern toddy ladle with initialled terminal, marked WS H B for William Simpson, Banff, length measuring 6 3/4 inches (17 cm). Together with two further Scottish silver toddy ladles to include one with twist stem, hallmarked Alexander Cameron (Dundee), Edinburgh 1811 and the second hallmarked William Fillan & Co (Aberdeen), Edinburgh 1832. Gross weight 2.9 ozt (93 grams).
Condition
The lot displays general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The Cameron example is creased to the finial and the bowl misshapen. Fillan example is pitted to the bowl with a small tear. The Banff example apart from general wear appears sound.
