Description
A late Victorian silver tea caddy, the circular repousse form depicting neo-classical figures dancing and playing instruments amidst a Grecian landscape including the Acropolis, with gadroon rim borders to the body and detachable lid. Hallmarked Thomas Hayes, Birmingham 1894. Height inclusive of lid measures 3 5/8 inches (9.3 cm), weight 3.36 ozt (104.6 grams).
Condition
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor loss of definition to the decoration. Hallmarks clear and legible.
