Ginsberg, was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1905. He took up painting andsculpting in the early 1950’s. His very early works were pastel. As he progressed to oils, he often paintedwith a palate knife.Mr. Ginsberg was a businessman and philanthropist. One of his early achievements in the field of realestate was the building of the Carlyle Hotel in New York with his father in 1929. He was also chairman ofa US steamship company that was very involved in operating cargo ships for the US Government duringWorld War II. He and his brother were responsible for buying and outfitting ships that transported33,000 refugees from Eastern Europe to Palestine (Included in those ships was the Exodus).Mr. Ginsberg never sold any of his artwork even though he had many offers.
